This week's pre-publication "We can't wait to read it!" selections are more then usual! Holy moly have I been busy with Summer School Library being open this summer the entire time and last week with the Green County Fair running last week which I had to be at supporting my kiddos...AND it was 100+ degrees here = exhaustion! That means some of these are already out, and some are coming out very soon. Oh well. I still wanted you to know about these great books we can't wait for! Happy Reading!

Seventeen-year-old conjoined twins Clara and Hailey have lived in the same small town their entire lives--no one stares at them anymore. But there are cracks in their quiet existence, and they're slowly becoming more apparent. Clara and Hailey are at a crossroads. Clara wants to stay close to home, avoid all attention, and study the night sky. Hailey wants to travel the world, learn from great artists, and dance with mysterious boys. As high school graduation approaches, each twin must untangle her dreams from her sister's, and figure out what it means to be her own person. (Summary from Goodreads)
Yes! A sister story. I love those, and this one has the unique element of sisters who are conjoined twins. I can't wait to read about how they grow together and apart.
This sounds like the type of protagonist I will enjoy: the crazy overachiever who learns something about herself--I love that it's through writing a book of her own. Yay!

I'm your protagonist - Reshma Kapoor - and if you have the free time to read this book, then you're probably nothing like me.
Reshma is a college counselor's dream. She's the top-ranked senior at her ultra-competitive Silicon Valley High School, with a spotless academic record and a long roster of extracurriculars. But there are plenty of perfect students in the country, and if Reshma wants to get into Stanford, and into med school after that, she needs the hook to beat them all.
What's a habitual over-achiever to do? Land herself a literary agent, or course. Which is exactly what Reshma does after agent Linda Montrose spots an article she wrote for Huffington Post. Linda wants to represent Reshma, and, with her new agent's help scoring a book deal, Reshma knows she'll finally have a the key to Stanford.
But she's convinced no one would want to read a novel about a study machine like her. To make herself a more relatable protagonist, she must start doing all the regular American girl stuff she normally ignores. For starters, she has to make a friend, then get a boyfriend. And she's already planned the perfect ending: after struggling for three hundred pages with her own perfectionism, Reshma will learn that meaningful relationships can be more important tan success--a character arc librarians and critics alike will enjoy.
Of course, even with a mastermind like Reshma in charge, things can't always go as planned. And when the valedictorian spot begins to slip from her grasp, she'll have to decide just how far she'll go for that satisfying ending. (Note: It's pretty far.) (Summary from Goodreads)

(Magisterium, Book 3)
Author: Holly Black and Cassandra Clare
Release Date: August 30, 2016
Published by: Scholastic
Magic can save you.
Magic can kill you.
Students at the Magisterium are supposed to be safe. Under the watchful eyes of the mages, they are taught to use magic to bring order to a chaotic world.
But how the chaos is fighting back. Call, Tamara, and Aaron should be worrying about things like pop quizzes and magic contests. Instead, after the shocking death of one of their classmates, they must track down a sinister killer...and risk their own lives in the process.
As Call, Tamara, and Aaron discover, magic can only be as good as the person who wields it. In evil hands, it has the capacity to do immeasurable harm, unless it is stopped in time. (Summary from Goodreads)
I LOVE this series like I LOVE Harry Potter. There's something about these books that makes me feel the same way that I did reading HP, but these are so much shorter which is nice too. If you haven't tried this series yet, DO!
Doesn't this sound fantastic!? I get the creeps every time I read that last sentence! Can't wait to try it!
