Review: Once a Witch by Carolyn MacCullough

Once a Witch (Witch, #1)Once a Witch
Author: Carolyn MacCullough
From: purchased NOOK Book
Publisher: Houghton Mifflin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Born into a long line of witches, Tamsin is prophesied to be the strongest of them all at her birth. Unfortunately, Tamsin's now 17 and her magic, or talent, has never appeared even a tiny bit! To avoid the family that either feels sorry for her all the time or treats her as if she can never do anything at all, she has enrooled in a private school in Manhatten. Tam addores everything about her life in the city at school away from her family.

Then one weekend while she's watching the bookshop for her grandmother, a stranger comes in looking for her very talented sister hoping she can find a long lost, family heirloom for him. After years of being found useless by her family, Tam decides to not correct this strange who thinks she's her sister and vows to find his missing heirloom for him. What she doesn't realize is that her agreement with the stranger is going to starther on a path that can't be stopped!

Some secrets can't be undiscovered...

1st: The title is perfect for the 1st & 2nd book, "Once a Witch, Always a Witch." Whoever came up with those titles deserves a raise!

2nd: This was just a GREAT read! I loved it! Tamsin and her family are just perfect in their drama and disfunction. The adventure they go on is gripping and flows so well! I can't wait to get to the next one!

  1. I really enjoyed this book. The sequel is good too although not as good. Glad you liked it.
