Skim by Mariko Tamaki

Skim is a high school girl who is working on finding her way through life. She's trying to figure out who she is, what she believes, and where she fits in the world. Skim is a novice wiccan practicing mostly on her own, but dabbling with visiting a coven. She experiements with relationships and tends to spend most of her time alone.

Skim's closest friend Lisa's personality and treatment of Skim rubbed me the wrong way throughout the book, her depression was sufficating and overall the book seemed to drag for me. The odd thing is that it's won awards!

Try it out (it's a graphic novel, so one night will do) and let me know if you feel differently!
