Stolen as a child from her large and loving family, and on the run with her mom for more than ten years, Callie has only the barest idea of what normal life might be like. She's never had a home, never gone to school, and has gotten most of her meals from laundromat vending machines. Her dreams are haunted by memories she'd like to forget completely. But when Callie's mom is finally arrested for kidnapping her, and Callie's read dad whisks her back to what would have been her life, in a small town in Florida, Callie must find a way to leave the past behind. She must learn to be part of a family. And she must believe that love--even with someone who seems an improbable choice--is more than just a possibility. (Summary from Goodreads)

A sad coming-of-age story? Maybe...but it should be interesting seeing the MC try to adapt to a "normal" family life after being on the run with her mother for so long.

(Teardrop, Book 1)
Author: Lauren Kate
Release Date: October 22, 2013
Published by: Delacorte Books for Young Readers

Never, ever cry...Eureka Boureaux's mother drilled that rule into her daughter years ago. But now her mother is gone, and everywhere Eureka goes he is there: Ander, the tall, pale blond boy who seems to know things he shouldn't, who tells Eureka she is in grave danger, who comes closer to making her cry than anyone has before.
But Ander doesn't know Eureka's darkest secret: ever since her mother drowned in a freak accident, Eureka wishes she were dead, too. She has little left that she cares about, just her oldest friend, Brooks, and a strange inheritance--a locket, a letter, a mysterious stone, and an ancient book no one understands. The book contains a haunting tale about a girl who got her heart broken and cried an entire continent into the sea. Eureka is about to discover that the ancient tale is more than a story, that Ander might be telling the truth...and that her life has far darker undercurrents than she ever imagined. (Summary from Goodreads)

WHOA! What continent? What story? This sounds amazing! I cannot wait to try this one and I've always wanted to read something by Lauren Kate. Has anyone tried this already?

What are you waiting on this week?
