Aisling, or Ash as she's known to those closest to her, loses everthing one after another in life to be left with her spiteful and greedy stepmother to be forced to serve in what should be her own home. As Ash takes on all of the chores and serving in the household that once took 3 to do, she also begins to see the harsh reality of her future with her stepfamily. Her greatest happiness come from escaping into the Wood whenever she gets the chance. The Wood is where she meets Sidhean and Kaisa, who will both change her life forever.
I always love a fairy tale retold! This one did not disappoint in its retelling of Cinderella with the world of faeries intermixed with ours in the time of carriages and Yule balls. Think Holly Black's Tithe mixed with the original Cinderella. This was just the right amount of dark and light to keep me hooked! Read it today! :) Try it and see what you think!
