Review: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium, #1)The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Author: Stieg Larsson

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Blomkvist has just been found guilty of libel against the powerful Wennerstrom. Salander has just been given a new guardian who is nothing like her trusted guardian who she's had for 17 years before this one. When the elusive magnate of the Vangar Corporation calls on both of them to take one last crack at solving the 40-year-old unsolved mystery of Harriet Vanger's disapperance in 1966. They are soon sucked into the a world of evil that they could have never guessed was hidden there. See if you can solve it before they can, before the hunter becomes the prey!

This was a perfect thriller! It had crime, mystery, suspense, horror, and the thrill of the hunted staying ahead of the hunter. I did have a hard time with all the violence against women, but I think that's the point. You are supposed to be horrified by it! It interestingly also makes you want to do something to help the helpless which is always an admirable quality in any book. I can't wait to see what's up next for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo!

What did you think of this? Did you love it? Hate it? People seem to have very strong opinions one way or the other!
